AT UCLA

Welcome to the official website of Global Medical Training at UCLA!
WHO IS GMT?
Global Medical Training (GMT) is an international, nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to providing sustainable and accessible free medical and dental services in developing communities across Central and South America, including Peru, Panama, Nicaragua, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic. In addition to our international service trips, GMT at UCLA has expanded its impact locally by hosting health screening clinics throughout Los Angeles approximately four times per quarter. Through these clinics, we provide vaccines with our certified vaccinator on-site, blood pressure and glucose screenings, BMI measurements, hygiene supplies, health education, and referrals to underserved populations, while giving students meaningful clinical exposure in their own community.
Beyond direct service, GMT supports students academically and professionally by offering MCAT workshops, medical and dental school panels, guest speakers, mentorship opportunities, fundraisers that support our humanitarian initiatives, and social events that strengthen our pre-health community. These programs create a comprehensive support system for aspiring healthcare professionals, combining service, skill-building, and peer connection.
Through both our international brigades and local clinics, students gain hands-on experience in global and community health, participate in educational and public health initiatives, and work directly alongside licensed medical professionals. This is why our motto is:"Learn by Doing."
